Did you know that YouTube is ranked as the second most visited website in the world, coming after internet king Google?

It has more than 1 billion users, and more than half of all views come from mobile devices, so there are literally millions of reasons to get started on You Tube.

We know what you’re thinking, you don’t want another social media platform to worry about along with everything else involved in your online marketing strategy. We totally get it!

But we’re here to convince you why exactly you need to jump on the You Tube bandwagon.

1. Almost 5 billion videos are watched on Youtube every single day

We’re guessing you’ve watched a least one You Tube video today, but even if you haven’t rest assured that the rest of the world are!

In an average month, 8 out of 10 18-49 year-olds watch YouTube, so if your customers are in that age bracket then you’re going to want a piece of the action.

Go ahead and search to see if your main competitors have a You Tube channel, and if they don’t then that’s even more reason why you need to swoop in and provide content for the masses.

It’s a portfolio

If you’ve spent a lot of time creating video content for your business then you’ll want to show it off.

You Tube is a great place to host all of your past video campaigns which are no longer relevant on your website, showing your customers that you’ve got a wealth of knowledge and expertise in your industry.

It gives you another online space

Kim Garst wrote about the brand Modcloth, an online clothing store which has seen great success, even without having a shop where customers to go to get a feel for the products.

“ModCloth’s YouTube channel surrounds their customers with the experience of the brand in a virtual way, much like the experience of walking into a brick and mortar store might do so”

So if you’re trying to give your customers a full 360 experience, then you’ll want to make your You Tube channel the place to be.
