At Production Attic, we enjoy creating content that will affect social change. We were excited to work on this instructional video for Police Scotland and The Scottish Government to help educate young footballer about potential predators in the industry. Check it out below:
Because the nature of this video, we were unable to find an athlete that would speak about the issue on camera. It was decided to present a dramatized version of events. To do this, we hired an actor to do the voiceover work and to appear as an anonymous figure on camera. In order to properly convey the tone of the campaign, we made the creative decision to shoot the actor in shadow and obscure his features.
We shot this video under strict COVID guidelines. We were conscious of using one actor and filming with minimal crew. We had to plan our shoot meticulously in order to adhere to safety and social distancing guidelines. This was a one-day shoot with two cameras. To ensure this campaign was engaging – we wrote a script for the actor and filmed plenty of B-roll to enhance our message.
We are excited that normal filming is returning – but in the meantime we continue to be blown away with the creative solutions that our team have devised so we can continue filming during COVID. Here we had to figure out how to tell a story spanning multiple years and locations using just a minimal crew and just one talented actor!
