At Production Attic, we are always keen to see what our creative contemporaries have been up to. Edinburgh Film Festival (EFF) pulls dynamic cinema from across the world. From solo animation projects, to musical romps and coming of age tales – EFF has it all.

Even with all of the talent from across the globe – we are proud of the heavy hitters that emerged from our homeland. For such an iconically Scottish festival, it is great to see our wonderful talent and stunning landscape shine!

Winning the Audience Choice Award at the 74th EFF, The Road Dance is clearly a frontrunner. Showcasing the Outer Hebrides, The Road Dance is a period drama based off a true story of an islander coming of age in the years before World War I.

The Prince of Muck is a documentary based around one family’s struggle to reconcile around the question of what will be done with their farm. Lawrence MacEwen, now 80, has farmed Muck for over sixty years. The film follows Lawrence’s struggle to preserve his eco-eco-concious vision of the island for future generations. This film also captures the universal struggle between intergenerational legacy and progress with the times.

There are countless films worth checking out from the EFF, but these are the ones that make us swell with pride. It is wonderful to see Scottish stories being told and to reflect on our heritage.
