We’re here for you when you need to create exciting and original video content. That’s our thing! But what happens when the video has been made?
It’s really important that you make use of this valuable piece of marketing, because chances are it can be shared on loads of your social media channels to get more eyes on your content.
Here are the 5 golden rules for sharing your video online
1.Be consistent
Even if you’re not 100% sure what you’re doing, stick with it! You’re probably not going to see a huge influx of views by Tweeting your video twice, unless we’ve inadvertently created a viral video for you! In which case, congrats.
All jokes aside, you won’t see results after a day or even a few weeks. You need to show up every day and consistently share your content as well other people’s in order to attract some attention.
2. Know your customer
Ideally, you already know who your customer is before you make a video. It’s just as important that you bear this information in mind when you start to share your content online.
Put yourself in the shoes of your customers and ask yourself; Who are they? What’s important to them? What are their pain points? What problems to they face on a daily basis? How can your company help them?
Once you’ve answered these questions you can move onto the next point with purpose.
3. Embrace the trial and error technique
As much as I would love to give you a universal template for when and where to share video online, such a thing does not exist. If it does, it’s unsuccessful.

The reason for this is that every audience is different and will respond to specific content in their own special way. If you know your customers then you’ll know their wants, needs and when they’re likely to be browsing the internet.
For example, most mums log on at 9am after the school drop off. Young professionals are more likely to be online a few hours earlier, probably whilst they’re commuting on the train to work in the city. It’s up to you to try different schedules and see what works. Which takes us onto the next point.
BONUS TIP: Remember to post your video at times to suit your global audience. This might mean scheduling posts at 3am to reach American customers before they go to bed.
4. Know your goal
How will you know what content to share, and how will you know if it works?
You need a goal in mind. This might be to get more email subscribers, more online sales, more one-off commissions or more enquires about bespoke projects.
Whatever your goal is, you should use this to inform what content you share and how you measure it’s success.
5. Use your analytics
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram all have different ways of showing you how well your posts are performing. Make sure you use them!
Set aside time every week or month to go over what worked and what didn’t. Like I said before, there’s no magic formula but if you show up and watch the patterns form you’ll soon come up with your own master plan.
